Volkswagen will be phasing out combustion technology after seven years. As the car manufacturer recently announced, the last vehicles that are not CO2-neutral will be developed in 2026. However, we need even more time to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. However, it is known that only electric cars will be produced from 2025. This will be an important step on the way to a climate-neutral society. With this decision, Volkswagen is much further ahead than the other car manufacturers. Others have so far only been able to declare their willingness to end diesel technology. Volvo and Porsche currently apply according to Volkswagen as the pioneers of e-mobility. Volkswagen is already planning to produce up to 330,000 e-cars a year at its passenger car plant in Zwickau. At the beginning of 2020, Europe's largest carmaker will launch the new e-car I.D. produce. Volkswagen will only have to spend 1.2 billion euros on the conversion of the passenger car plants in Zwickau, Emden and Hanover.
