Volkswagen wants to accommodate this and design cars that reflect precisely this positive feeling. "Our core is like this: We are the nice guys."
This approach is already evident in Volkswagen's latest models. The ID. Buzz, for example, combines futuristic elements with a charming retro look, while many of the SUVs impress with their friendly faces. The new Golf and Passat also appear less threatening compared to the competition, despite the trendy, downward-facing headlights and large radiator grilles.
Prospect of higher-quality interiors
But Volkswagen is not only aiming to impress on the outside. The car manufacturer is working intensively on a new generation of interiors. "We will try to do away with cheap plastic materials and invest the money in fabrics and quality improvements instead," explained Mindt. The aim is to increase interior comfort without driving up costs unnecessarily.
