Citroen celebrates its 100th anniversary

This year Citroën celebrates its 100th anniversary. Citroën has produced over 300 models since it was founded as a car manufacturer in 1919 and prides itself on its ability to be bold in everything it creates without losing the human connection that brings the machine to life.

André Citroën, the founder of the brand, had a vision from day one. That vision was to develop inexpensive automobiles that were well-engineered and fit for the purpose for which the worker needed them.

The philosophy has remained largely the same: Building a comfortable car that offers excellent value for money without compromising on quality development.

Citroën hopes to keep up the momentum in 2019 with two concept vehicles. One will represent the company's vision for the future of urban mobility and the second will fully emphasise comfort.

Anniversary with international, national and local events

To mark the start of the brand's anniversary year, Citroën is presenting the exclusive Collector's Edition Origins with 5 models from the current product range: Citroën C1, C3, C3 Aircross Compact SUV, C4 Cactus and C4 SpaceTourer.

The brand is celebrating its 100th anniversary with numerous international, national and local events. The anniversary celebrations began with the classic car trade fair Rétromobile already started in February. Legendary models were exhibited at this trade fair in France.

In April, the French car manufacturer will offer its customers the opportunity to rent historic models in Paris. The company will host an event in Paris in June. At this "Street Burst Day a Parisian street will be transformed into "Citroen Street". On this night, Parisians will celebrate 100 years of the company's history through 100 models.
